Created as a part of the “Sweeping Skies” Collection which sold out in 22 hours in May, 2021. Walking the mudflats, listening to the lapping salty waves, and breathing in the quiet joy that Maine’s landscape offers us were all moments of inspiration for this “Sweeping Skies” Collection.
My intentions were to create a body of work that gently encourages us to let go of the added weight this past year has cloaked us with and allow that heaviness to float away with the salty breeze, into the soft, sweeping skies. Because it’s time. It’s time to be with our people, our family, our friends once again and celebrate love and connection and belonging. Summer time in Maine brings us together and this summer let’s savor it. This collection of work captures the places that reunite us on the edges of Casco Bay and Mt. Desert Narrows. The ever changing, light-filled, sweeping skies remind us to take all our cares away, leaving space for joy and connection once again.
