A Poem by the Artist:

Among the Bowdoin Pines,

Shadows and spotlights dance,

Dappling the earth, time slows and stretches with the light.

Backlit with a warm glow, the sun's rays seep through,

And, I remember my time among the Pines.

I remember the inviting September hello,

The familiar and gentle, but firmly grounded presence,

like a wise elder.

I remember the feeling among the Pines,

morning walks to class,

afternoon walks to the athletic fields,

evening walks to the dining halls,

always there with me, like a good friend,

A quiet, listening, but fully present presence.

I remember the feeling among the pines,

And that soft, smiling feeling is still here with me, now,

Among the Bowdoin Pines.
